CUSTOM GEMSTONES by Daniel Stair

On this site you will find unique, natural gemstones from around the world that have been cut  to achieve the best possible color and brilliance.  You will not find lab grown stones, synthetics, or irradiated stones.  I cut and sell only natural stones of lasting value and beauty that would be of high enough quality for collectors or jewelry designers.

I hope you enjoy your experience here.  If you see something you're interested in or have any comments, please feel free to send me an Email.   I'd love to hear from you!  Also, please include Item# (s) in your Email.  Thanks and Enjoy!

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS:

NOW OFFERING Custom Cutting Service for Your Gemstones -  As of March 15th, 2024, I have decided to return to doing repairs, recuts or cutting of rough gemstones on a limited basis (so as not to get so backlogged that I can't provide a good service).  Labor rate is $50 U.S. per hour and all work is done at the risk of the stones' owner as some gemstones are just unstable or have undisclosed treatments that can cause problems during the cutting process. I don't think I've ever lost someone else's stone to such an issue, but it certainly is possible.  Also, I do not work on all gemstones, particularly man-made, fracture filled, diffusion treated or other stones of very low value.

IMAGES YOU ARE SEEING:  I do the best we can to provide a (one) good image, video and accurate description of each gemstone.  The written descriptions of color and clarity should be given more consideration than the photos.  My computer monitor is meticulously calibrated for offset printing, which is the most universal standard.  If you are using yours the way it came from the factory, it is probably set to be far too bright and images will look washed out or faded.  The colors will also likely be incorrect.  If the gray backgrounds of my images display a more than a slight secondary color such as yellow, blue or magenta, your monitor is likely not adjusted correctly.

HOW CAN I SEND PAYMENT?  I accept Paypal or Zelle sent the email address of daniel@customgemstones.com or you can mail a check or money order to Daniel Stair at the address above.  Please verify stone availability before sending payment.

SPECIAL REQUESTS:  I am happy to try and cut a stone for you if I have the rough and what you ask for is not wasteful or something that nobody else would likely want.  With those things in mind, there is no obligation on your part to purchase the stone if you don't like what we come up with.  I tend to have a waiting list, so it may take some time to get to your stone.  If you are in a rush for some reason, please let me know.

WILL SOMEONE NEED TO SIGN FOR MY PACKAGE?  Yes, in most cases I prefer to use signature confirmation to make sure packages aren't put in roadside mail boxes or thrown on peoples' porches. For international shipments, sent via Global Express Mail or registered mail, a signature will also be needed. Please provide a secure mailing address where someone will be available to sign for the package if needed.

WILL YOU CUT MY ROUGH, RECUT OR REPAIR MY STONE?  Sorry, this service has been discontinued.  My own stones sat around here for years because I was always so busy working on other peoples' gems.  A few years ago, I decided to leave the cutting of rough, repairs, etc. to the other cutters in the world.

PRICESCOPE MEMBERS - Due to my desire to concentrate on cutting more stones, I will no longer respond to your requests for additional photos and videos on the hand or in different lighting. Additionally, because of your high return rate (probably 25x normal) I will no longer knowingly sell spinels to members of Pricescope.com and any other sales to Pricescope members are final - no returns, no exceptions.

Should you decide to purchase one of my stones, please review my return policy and terms of sale below.
